Pekan Rabu

Just before we went back to PD last week, we made a stop to the famous Pekan Rabu in Alor Setar. It was raining quite heavily that day but it doesn't stop us from going to the market. Although it called Pekan Rabu (Wednesday Market), this bustling market is open all week except for Friday.

You can find a lots of goodies in Pekan Rabu. From beautiful handicraft, delicious tidbits, colourful Baju Melayu....well, just name it. Pekan Rabu has it all...

We were there to find some fresh dates and ikan pekasam. Ikan pekasam from Kedah has always been our favourite during Ramadhan. It act the same way like appetizer and it cheap as well. Lovely food......

Actually, this is the first time this year that I come back to my hometown. Reason...because my parent was in my sister's house in Italy since last year. They just came back lately so instead of me buying them a present, we received a lots of goodies from Milan. The cutest present is for Hazwan...a summer pyjamas that cover the body till toe. Compare to Hafiz at his side, Hazwan looks like a giant baby to me....hhaahhaha..

This is Abah. Beard is same with me only Abah's beard is white in colour. Abah is 67 years old now. His neck knocked to the bath tub back in year 2005 and since then, he has difficulty to move the right part of his body. He was a strong man during his younger age but today, not anymore.

Although he can't easily move like before, he still have the will to play with his grandchildren. Those days when he still can walk and strong, he will took all his grandchildren for a ride on a motorbike. Today, even if he can't do all that anymore he will find his way to play with them. It just, he loves kids.....and that day, he took Hazwan for a spin with his electric wheel chair.

Abah will always be my hero. One of many other things that make him smile is when I told him that I was chosen to be a Pemuda PAS of my area. He just can't stop smiling and he proudly announce it to all his siblings. I guess, I will pursue that position for Abah. Hope Abah will always in a good health and happy.

Balik Kampung Project

Ramadhan is just around the corner. I am on my way back to Alor Setar to celebrate the first of Ramadhan with my parent. After all, it has been quite sometimes since the last trip to Alor Setar.

We made a transit to my eldest brother's house in Sungai Petani. He just bought the house this year and it is a lovely house I can say. A single storey semi-detached with peace and calm neighbourhood. Foods and houses are still cheap and living cost is still realistic.

I love to stay in Kedah or Kelantan one fine day. Probably during my retirement day, I would like to have a single storey house to stay. It will be easy to walk araound in the house if it just have one level only.

....the happy family...

Nur Hadi and Hazwani....

Semoga korang jadi lelaki yg sejati di kemudian hari....amin.....

Cloth Diapers

Then during the afternoon, we went to KL and Shah Alam for a few things....My wife bought 15 sets of cloth diapers for Hafiz. It came in various of colours. Hafiz was so happy with the cloth diapers. Not because of having a new diapers that makes him happy but I believe because of the colours that makes him excited.

It was a good bargain after all. I just hope that we have the time to wash the cloth diapers after Hafiz use it.

all but smiling....hehehehe

Since we got nowhere to go during weekend, my wife just cherish the day with a simple activity with the kids. She took a few shots of my kids having fun in the mini pool. I was not around at the time but it gave me a good smile when she showed me the pictures. camera can be quite handy sometimes...Never under estimate digital camera...!!

Huh...!! Just another scary history to our country. I feel like it's important to write something about H1N1 in my blog. The impact to the world in general and to our country in specific is just unbelievable. People died because of it and it just don't care who you are. Even the royal family of Pahang got infected with the virus....seriously scary...
Avoiding public area is essential but wearing a mask as a protection is paramount. The number of death has now turn to 6-7 people per day..... yet in public area such as bank, market and restaurant people are still hesitate to wear the protection mask.
Hope the coming of Ramadhan will ease the pandemic.
